“I can’t control it!†– the 4 words that every Marvel player dreads hearing, right next to “I need more power.†and “Now, I’m Motivated.†If you follow fighting games, chances are you already know that X-Factor Level 3 Dark Phoenix is one of the most overpowered characters of all time. Any time she touches you is instant death, and when she kills one of your characters, the other 2 usually quickly follow as they are immediately subjected to her almost hard-to-spot-and-react incoming mixups that also just happen to instantly kill characters.
This character was so powerful in the original Marvel vs Capcom 3 that they basically nerfed her down to half her original strength for the Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 update, and she still was capable of the same amount of destruction as soon as she was unleashed. Phoenix mains love her, and non-Phoenix players love to hate her. No matter what your opinion of the character is, you can’t deny that she’s been responsible for some of the hypest moments in tournament history.
