It’s hard to anything fresh in the stealth genre. Metal Gear Solid has pretty much become the textbook example while other game series like Thief, Hitman, Splinter Cell, and more have also offered great experiences.

The developers at Spikewave Games believe that their debut game Evotinction will bring something new to the table. What sets the game apart from other stealth titles is the focus on hacking as the main method of completing objectives and subduing enemies.

The game was unveiled at Sony’s showcase at China Hero Project 2019 (also known as ChinaJoy 2019). So far, all news point to the conclusion that Evotinction is a PS4 exclusive.

Set in the near future, ‘Evotinction’ aims to discuss the relationship between evolution and extinction. As technology rapidly develops, its potential threat grows as well.

According to Gematsu, Spikewave is composed of former 2K China staff. The game is still in development and if you visit their company website, you’ll see that they’re still looking for new staff to join the team.

Judging by the little amount of gameplay shown, it’s easy to see that the game is far from finished.. The Watch Dogs games already have combined hacking and stealth before so to expand entirely on those two, they’ll need to be creative.
