You Cannot Pre-Load Borderlands 3 On The Epic Games Store

Bad news for everyone who wants to pre-load Borderlands 3: the Epic Games store will not support that function.

Epic CEO Tim Sweeney confirmed the news on Twitter. “I’m sorry, we won’t have support for pre-loading in the Borderlands release timeframe,” he said.

The reason? “It’s complicated,” Sweeny added. “We’ve released support for file preloading which is sufficient for some games, but we aren’t certain it’s up to the demands of a blockbuster like Borderlands“. Better the company come clean with this sooner than later; no doubt this will add more hate to the already infamous digital download store.

This will not be stopping Epic Games from purchasing timed exclusives anytime soon, but it does show how slow the company has been with its store roadmap and improvements. So while you’re waiting for Borderlands 3 to install in PC on 13th September, why not read up on the Vault Hunter’s skill trees to plan your builds?
