Old Ben ain’t dead yet.
One of the most common requests by Star Wars fans is the return of Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi in any form, be it a movie or series. It looks like their wishes may come true, as the actor is said to be in talks to reprise his role as the Jedi Master, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Disney is supposedly planning a new Disney Plus series starring Obi-Wan Kenobi. If true, this will be the third live-action series set in the franchise after The Mandalorian and the untitled Cassian Andor/K2SO series, the latter of which no one really asked for because the spinoff Star Wars movies were terrible.
Ewan McGregor is currently set for a resurgence of sorts. After starring in the 2017 Winnie the Pooh live-action movie Christopher Robin, he will star in The Shining sequel Doctor Sleep later this year, and as villain Black Mask in the DC Comics’ movie Birds Of Prey (And The Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn).
Disney has yet to confirm this news, but they will likely confirm it at the upcoming D23 Expo in Anaheim, California. Stay tuned until then.
