The Best PC Games You Can Buy For Less Than RM100

Role-Playing Games

Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Definitive Edition

Divinity OS2

RM95.00

One of the best turn-based RPGs I’ve ever played, Divinity: Original Sin 2 will suck many hours out of your life and in my case, I enjoyed almost every minute of it.

The turn-based combat is great thanks to the deep magic system as well as the need for tactical placements of your characters. Dialogue is well-written and offers you a great amount of freedom for role-playing.

There’s an intriguing main story for you to discover plus a ton of fun and interesting sidequests. The visuals are beautiful and the voice acting is really good.

If you want to wait for a discount, that’s understandable but this is one of the games I would recommend at full price.

Fallout New Vegas Ultimate

RM38.00

Forget Fallout 3 and Fallout 4. The only true modern Fallout game is New Vegas and to get the base game plus all the DLCs for below RM40 is a steal.

The base game alone will last you at least for 20 hours and that’s without doing most of the sidequests. The shooting isn’t something to write home about but the RPG mechanics and post-apocalypse atmosphere are both done extremely well.

The best thing about it is that it was released almost a decade ago so it’ll run well even on regular spec laptops.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines

VTMB

RM36.00

If you’ve ever heard of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, then you’ve probably also heard that it’s one of the best vampire games out there. I’ll personally tell you that it’s not one of the best, it’s definitely the best.

Don’t play it for the gunplay and combat. Those are its weakest aspects. The reason why a lot of people love VtmB is its story and characters. You’re given the freedom to make a lot of interesting choices that affect the world around you.

Reinstalling the game as I write this.

Dragon Age: Origins

DAO.jpg

RM38.00

Dragon Age: Origins is quite possibly the best Bioware game ever made. It checks every box in the Bioware formula and goes even further.

It’s the usual “you are a chosen one destined to save the world” plot but underneath the cliche storyline is a fantasy world with well-designed political systems and histories. The characters and companions you meet in your journey will remain in your heart far after the main quest is over.

The combat happens in a semi-turn-based manner where you can pause the battle to issue commands and move your characters. If you love going over every detail in a battle to fully utilise your party’s strength, you’ll love this game.

Even if you don’t, I’d recommend just playing on the easiest difficulty so that you can still experience the game. It’s totally worth it.

Onto Action-Adventure…
