Destiny 2 IS Moving To Steam; Permanently Leaving Battle Net
By Burhan ZamriVerified|August 9, 2019|0 Comment
In the past few months, some people have been saying that Bungie is eventually going to widen their Destiny 2 PC audience by making the game available on either Steam or the Epic Games Store. News have arrived confirming that it’s the former.
An official announcement from Bungie states that Destiny 2 PC is moving to Steam on 1 October 2019. However, the game will not be existing on two platforms at the same time. The Battle.net version will no longer be available after the aforementioned date.
For Battle.net players, you can begin transferring your accounts and progress on 20 August 2019. The transfer will include Player Accounts, the game itself, expansions and DLCS, Annual Pass, and more that you’d expect in an account transfer.
The move shouldn’t be too surprising seeing as how Destiny 2 has been seeing a steady decline of players. In June 2019, the game hit one million daily players when Bungie was doing a sale for the game plus all of its DLC.
Allowing the game to be bought and played through Steam will definitely boost the population thanks to Steam’s bigger pool of users. You can visit the game’s steam page here and pre-orders can be made right now.
The Steam version will be released in conjunction with the next major story expansion titled Shadowkeep. Make sure to transfer your account by 1 October 2019. It’ll be too late after that.
