First Razer SEA Games Esports Bootcamp Concludes With Dota 2’s Evil Geniuses

Ahead of the 2019 SEA Games later this year, the first Razer SEA Games Esports Bootcamp has concluded today on 9 September 2019. The bootcamp took place over two days with five participating national teams from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines.

They received personal training and tips from none other than renowned Dota 2 pro team Evil Geniuses, who recently grabbed 5th/6th place and winning a total of US$1.2 million at The International 2019 last month in Shanghai, China.

The Bootcamp is part of Razer’s long-term vision to develop esports in Southeast Asia, as the company will also be the official esports partner of the upcoming 2019 SEA Games, which will take place from 5 to 10 December 2019.

The games that will be competed at the 2019 SEA Games include Dota 2 (PC), StarCraft 2 (PC), Hearthstone (PC), Tekken 7 (consoles), Arena Of Valor (Mobile), and Mobile Legends Bang Bang (mobile).

Evil Geniuses coach Sam ‘BuLba’ Sosale said:

“It was a pleasure to work with the national teams.

We hope the experience was extremely fruitful for the national teams. Their laser-focus and dedication to their sport is extremely inspiring.

We can’t wait to see them excel and in the upcoming games.”

It will also be the first international sports event in history to feature esports as a medal sport, with a projected regional audience of over 600 million viewers. In the meantime, check out pictures from the Razer SEA Games Esports Bootcamp below.
