EA Wins Guinness Book Of World Records For Star Wars Battlefront II

Sounds like a positive headline, right? Nothing could be further from the truth.

Turns out that infamous Reddit post where EA responds to player complaints about unlocking Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: Battlefront II (2017 version) has made it in the Guinness Book of World Records for having the largest number of downvotes ever for a Reddit post: 683,000.

As a reminder, here’s the full post:

The intent is to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment for unlocking different heroes.

As for cost, we selected initial values based upon data from the Open Beta and other adjustments made to milestone rewards before launch. Among other things, we’re looking at average per-player credit earn rates on a daily basis, and we’ll be making constant adjustments to ensure that players have challenges that are compelling, rewarding, and of course attainable via gameplay.

We appreciate the candid feedback, and the passion the community has put forth around the current topics here on Reddit, our forums and across numerous social media outlets.

Our team will continue to make changes and monitor community feedback and update everyone as soon and as often as we can.

The second most-downvoted Reddit post, which is about Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, received only 88,906 downvotes.

So, congratulations EA? To be fair, The Guinness Book of World Records is infamous for getting money from helping companies invent and break new records for the sake of publicity. So being in the book right now might be dubious, arguably so.
