Borderlands 3’s First In-Game Event Bloody Harvest Creeps In Late October

The Borderlands 3 post-release road map looks to be chock-full of content that will probably support the game all the way until its Steam release and beyond that. First in line is the Bloody Harvest free in-game event which will go live late October 2019.
In the debut episode of a new YouTube show called The Borderlands Show, Gearbox creative director Paul Sage talks to the hosts about what players can expect in Bloody Harvest.
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtoSTEJ062s?start=3320&w=560&h=315]Being a Halloween event, it will introduce a new map that’s full of ghastly enemies including Rakk-O’-Lanterns and Ghosts. Waiting for you at the end of the map is a boss named Captain Haunt. Those of you who have played the game will know exactly who this undying soul belongs to.
To access the Bloody Harvest map, you’ll first need to collect Hecktoplasm which you can get by gunning down Ghosts that will pop out from Haunted enemies. These Haunted enemies will appear every now and then while you explore the galaxy doing the main campaign and carrying out sidequests.
If you come into contact with these Ghosts, the new Terror debuff gets applied. Your vision will become partially shrouded by a “mysterious mist” and your gun handling, accuracy, and spread will also suffer penalties.
A saurian by the name of Maurice will appear on Sanctuary III after you leave Pandora. Turning in the Hecktoplasm to him is how you’ll get the key to the new Bloody Harvest area. Seeing as how the boss is somebody you meet later on in the campaign, this probably isn’t a quest you want to do right after leaving the first planet. You’ll also be laughably underleveled for it too.
The free event will of course come with new guns, shields, grenade mods, and aesthetic items. Some of the weapons and items will even give you positive effects if you incur the Terror debuff. Anointed loot drops from Haunted enemies, Ghosts, and Captain Haunt will have a chance to have Terror-based modifiers.
So until the event drops, you’ll have to get yourself terrifically excited by looking at these images for now and also this SHiFT code which was dropped in the above video:
