Naughty Dog Explains Absence Of Multiplayer In The Last Of Us Part 2
By Alleef AshaariVerified|September 27, 2019|0 Comment
A lot of details were unveiled last night when everyone finally revealed their hands-on experience of The Last Of Us Part 2 during a recent exclusive media event. One of the biggest news we reported about the upcoming game is that it won’t include multiplayer, like the Factions mode in 2013’s The Last Of Us.
On Twitter, The Last Of Us Part 2 developer Naughty Dog explained the absence of multiplayer in the highly-anticipated game, clarifying that they did indeed work on a multiplayer mode but that it grew into more than just an additional mode for a single-player game.
A multiplayer mode will eventually be released as a separate game from The Last Of Us Part 2, though “when or where” have yet to be determined. That could mean it will possibly even be launching on the PS5 sometime in the future.

Previous PS4 exclusive single-player games like God Of War, Horizon Zero Dawn and Marvel’s Spider-Man didn’t have multiplayer modes but went on to experience incredible sales and critical acclaim. Some games just don’t need multiplayer in any form, and they’re a much better product for it.
The Last Of Us Part 2 is slated to release on 21 February 2019. For more details and information on the different editions of the game, head on over here.
