[Report] Control To Get DLC For Side Character
By Alleef AshaariVerified|September 3, 2019|0 Comment
Remedy Entertainment‘s Control has turned out to be one of the year’s biggest surprises so far, and a potential contender for GOTY at that. While the developer has yet to confirm any upcoming content for the game (besides future improvements and performance updates which includes a Photo Mode), someone may have discovered evidence pointing to a possible DLC.
YouTuber ManFightDragon used the debugging tools on the PC version of Control with the intention of showing off the game’s free-look camera, as well as alternate renders showcasing various shaders and effects.
What he didn’t expect to find was a reference to DLC, which you can see in the video below at 5:20 mark He discovered a mission not currently available in the game titled “St01_MM_04_Marshall_START_Plus_PS4_SM15_Dlc.â€

The “Dlc” tag at the end of the string of words clearly indicates that it’s intended to be a DLC content addition for Control. What’s interesting here is that the word Marshall most likely refers to Helen Marshall, one of the prominent supporting characters in the game.
She is the FDC’s Head Of Operations, and she went missing in the latter half of the game while investigating the Hiss infestation, seemingly not found anywhere in Control afterwards.
It’s possible that the DLC in question will focus on Jesse Faden trying to locate her and bring her back into the fold, or even feature Marshall herself as a playable protagonist.
We’ll have to wait for an official announcement from the folks at Remedy Entertainment. Control is now out for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. In the meantime, check out our review of Control here.
