Gamescom Asia Signs In Razer As Official Esports Partner

It looks like Gamescom Asia’s esports arm is getting the green-and-black-coloured boost it needs.

Organizers Koelnmesse will be teaming up with major peripheral company Razer for next year’s Gamescom Asia video game expo. This partnership will make sure that the esports bit of this Gamescom expo will get the stakeholders it needs to fund the entire thing.

And also help the “growth of the regional esports community” which we hope stretches beyond Singapore. And also get competitors to use Razer’s plethora of keyboards, mice, and competitive gaming products. Exposure, right?

Here’s a quip from Koelnmesse’s managing director Mathias Kuepper:

“This partnership is the perfect opportunity to bring a unique consumer experience to Gamescom Asia, and we are excited to have Razer on-board as our first official esports partner. Together, we will scale-up the playing field for the gaming industry in the region.”

And here’s one PR quote from Razer global esports director David Tse.

“This is an incredible moment for the gaming event landscape in the region, and we invite gamers, communities and partners to join us in support of Gamescom Asia 2020. Gamescom is the world’s biggest gaming event and we’re thrilled to partner Koelnmesse to transform the face of esports in this region.”

Gamescom Asia will be on 15th to 18th October 2020 and will be held in Singapore. For more on Gamescom Asia and whether it’s a good idea or not in this day and age, head here.
