Apex Legends Halloween Event Officially Announced, Spooky Skins Galore
By Burhanudin Zamri|October 8, 2019|0 Comment
We were all 99% sure a Halloween event was coming to Apex Legends this month and now Respawn has given us that last 1%. Get your scary on because The Fight or Fright Collection Event is about to start.
The event will start on 15 October and end on 5 November 2019. There will be a limited time game mode, exclusive cosmetics, event exclusive challenges, and more. Here’s a checklist of what’s coming:
- Limited Time Mode – Shadowfall
- Exclusive event challenges
- Free earnable cosmetics including two Legendary weapon skins
- 24 event limited premium cosmetics that can also be unlocked with Event Apex Packs.
- Lifelife Heirloom set preview
- Double XP for Top 5 & Wins weekend
With the debut of Season 3, we had to say goodbye to Kings Canyon and play in World’s Edge instead, which has been a pretty fun map. It looks like Respawn was busy preparing Kings Canyon for something big because it’s making a comeback. A dark and terrifying comeback.
The Shadowfall limited time game mode will put 35 players into a nighttime version of Kings Canyon. Players who die will join the “Shadow Squad” and respawn as undead versions of their Legends. Undead players won’t be able to use weapons or even their skills but will be able to run faster, jump higher, scale walls, and have a stronger melee attack.
To make it worse for survivors, the undead also get unlimited respawns via skydive.
The objective is to be part of the last 10 Legends left who must then team up to get to an evac ship and escape while also fending off the Shadow Squad. It’s basically a zombie mode with an Apex Legends twist but it definitely sounds really exciting.
For players who aren’t keen on spending real money on the game, fear not! There’s a bunch of cosmetics that you can earn just by completing event challenges. Have a look:
There will be 24 event-exclusive items that can be bought via direct purchase, direct crafting, and Event Apex Packs. This time, there won’t be any form of event currency so it’s been replaced with additional loot. It gets even better because there also won’t be any duplicates in the Event Apex Packs.
- Direct Purchase
- Legendaries – 1,800 Apex Coins
- Epics – 1,000 Apex Coins
- Crafting
- Legendaries – 2,400 Crafting Metals
- Epics – 800 Crafting Metals
- Event Apex Packs
- 700 Apex Coins
From 25 October to 28 October 2019, players who get into the Top 5 and win matches will get double XP during the entire weekend. This bonus affects both Account Level and Battle Pass progression.
The Apex Legends Fight or Fright Collection Event will run 15 October to November 2019. For more details, check out Respawn’s official announcement.
