The Last Of Us Part 2 Delayed To Spring 2020; Ghost Of Tsushima Probably Out Later [Update]

Update: Naughty Dog confirmed that The Last Of Us Part 2 will be out 29th May 2020. Still no updates regarding Ghost of Tsushima though.

Original story:

If a release date sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. Such is the case of the early February stamp of a much-anticipated PlayStation 4 exclusive.

Kotaku editor Jason Schreier recently broke the news that the game in question is The Last of Us Part 2, according to his sources. The game’s release has been pushed back to Spring 2020.

In the aforementioned article, Schreier clarifies that this is definitely not an official announcement. You can expect one within the week.

Furthermore, he also mentioned of another PS4 exclusive that may be out later in 2020: the Sucker Punch-created samurai epic Ghost of Tsushima, most likely to account for this delay.

Officially speaking, The Last of Us Part 2 is scheduled to be released on 21 February 2020 exclusively for the PS4. It’s expected to be one of the last major titles of the PS4, which is quite similar to what the first game was to the PS3.

The PlayStation 5 is coming out in late 2020 so it’s highly unlikely that The Last of Us Part 2 will be rescheduled as a PS5 launch title. Still, we’ll have to wait and see what Naughty Dog says in an official capacity.
