Disco Elysium Is Coming To Consoles In 2020
By Burhanudin Zamri|November 1, 2019|0 Comment
Imagine playing a CRPG that is almost totally devoid of combat and the encounters depends on dialogue and skill checks. On top of that, you plays as a detective who has multiple voices in his head. In case you couldn’t guess, I’m talking about the recently released Disco Elysium.
In a recent interview with the Escapist, ZA/UM lead designed Robert Kurvitz revealed that the studio is working on porting the game to consoles by next year. Kurvitz says that he wants to “get Disco Elysium to as many people as possible” but only specifically mentioned PlayStation and Xbox so it’s probably not coming to the Nintendo Switch.
“We’re going to port it next year to PlayStation and Xbox. We need to be very hands-on with the design of that. We don’t want to hire a porting company. We think it really is going to lend itself very well to console play because you don’t need to go over minute tactics and use a mouse because it’s very narrative in its nature.â€
– Robert Kurvitz, lead designer of Disco Elysium.
Disco Elysium has been getting rave reviews thanks to its well-written dialogue and ridiculously unpredictable storyline so it’s great to hear that PS4 and Xbox One owners will also get the chance to experience its charm. The game was launched on 15 October 2019 for PC via Steam.
