BlizzCon 2019 wrapped up two days ago but the excitement that comes from all the reveals can still be felt by gamers all around the world. The unveiling of Diablo IV will definitely one of the biggest highlights in gaming for at least the next few months to come.
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bRWIdOMfro&w=560&h=315]In a interview with VG24/7, the developers working on the new Diablo game talked about how they have been working hard in trying to bring something new to the series while also maintaining the atmosphere that fans have grown to love.
Lead quest designer Jason Roberts mentioned a particularly famous horror manga artist whose works are very well-known throughout the world served as an inspiration in enhancing the horror elements of the game. That’s right, he’s talking about Junji Ito.
“Junji Ito and some of the elements he brings in, kind of taking mundane things and twisting them, creating horror elements within that – then there’s the Cthulhu mythos and some of the horror elements there, especially the fear of the unknown.”
– Jason Robert, Diablo IV lead quest designer.
Judging by how horrifying (and beautiful) the cinematic trailer looked, it’s easy to see that the team has been very serious in their attempts to make the world of Diablo a lot scarier and more atmospheric.
