The Game Awards 2019 is happening soon in the next few weeks, so it’s apparent that the nominations are primed and ready. 

Turns out that it’s chock-filled with Death Stranding. No, really: the Hideo Kojima-directed game has nine nominations, with the Remedy shooter Control netting eight.

• Why the hell isn’t Code Vein nominated for Best Score/Music? On that note, why is DMC5 on this category?
• If I were to make a drinking game revolving around Death Stranding’s nomination and wins, I’d be dead from alcohol poisoning in the first 10 minutes of the show.
• Good to see Outer Wilds getting the nominations it needs, though it should at least get a GOTY nomination.
• Arslan Ash should at least get a nomination in the esports player category. His victory and story must be noticed in something as big as the Game Awards.
