New Gladiator Game Might Also Launch For PS5
By Alleef Ashaari|December 4, 2019|0 Comment
No, we don’t mean Ridley Scott’s 2000 historical epic masterpiece starring Russell Crowe and a pre-Joker Joaquin Phoenix. It turns out that there’s actually an obscure series of Gladiator games made by Japanese developer Acquire, who is also responsible for game franchises like Way Of The Samurai, Tenchu, and most recently the Nintendo Switch exclusive Octopath Traveler.
Acquire has announced Gladiator X, the latest entry in the series which began with 2005’s Colosseum: Road To Freedom for the PS2 (via Gematsu). It is an action-adventure game set in 16th-century Ancient Rome when Marcus Aurelius was the Roman emperor.
Here’s what we know about the game so far:
It’s been a while since we’ve received a good gladiator game or a game set in Roman times. The last most prominent one was 2013’s Xbox One exclusive Ryse: Son Of Rome, which turned out to be not very good.
No platforms or release date have been officially revealed for Gladiator X. For an idea of what to expect, check out gameplay footage from Gladiator Begins below.
