Nintendo Switch Pro Will Drop This Year, According To This Analyst

It’s the beginning of yet another new gaming year, and thus industry analysts from all over the corners of the globe are chiming in with their predictions and foresight for the incoming year in 2020. In a panel roundup hosted by GamesIndustry.biz, one of the more prominent ones is Dr. Serkan Toto.

Dr. Serkan Toto is the CEO of Kantan Games, an independent consultancy focused on Japan’s game industry mainly targeting institutional investors and game developers. Last year, he correctly predicted the exact name of the Nintendo Switch Lite before it was officially announced.

According to his 2020 predictions, Nintendo will launch the Switch Pro in 2020, at an estimated price of US$399, featuring 4K support, bigger cartridge sizes, and upgraded components. He also predicts a release date after the summer holidays to avoid going up against the Holiday release of the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

On last detail he mentions about his predicted Switch Pro is that it will arrive with a brand new first-party console-seller. While he doesn’t specifically state any titles, possibles ones could be The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 (which is currently in development), or even a new Mario title of some sort.

Nintendo has yet to confirm the existence of a Nintendo Switch Pro, but both the Nintendo Switch Lite and Enhanced Edition were also announced out of the blue last year, to the surprise of everyone. It remains to be seen if that will happen again this year with a more powerful variant.
