Final Fantasy XV Mobile MMO Is In The Works

Believe it or not, Final Fantasy XV was in development for about a decade. All hiccups aside, it’s not difficult to assume that Square Enix must’ve already planned spin-offs and sequels during that period. It looks like we finally have more details about one of those spin-offs.

FFXV-Mobile

Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmad tweeted out new information regarding one of Square Enix’s latest project. The studio is working on a new FFXV title but it’s going to be a MMO made for mobiles.

Way back in 2017, Square Enix did announce that they were bringing an entirely new FFXV mobile game to China. In other words, this isn’t the first time that this is being talked about.

What is new is that the names of the studios involved have been revealed. The game is being co-developed by Korean studio JSC and Chinese studio GAEA. Publisher Oriental Pearl will distribute the game in China and a global release is also planned.

Other game-related information revealed is that it will be made using Unreal Engine 4. Instead of just being a port of FFXV, it will have new original content that expands the game’s lore. A new area called the Great Pagoda will be added and there will even be floating continents in the sky.

That’s all we know for now. The analyst says that more information will be shared later in the first half of 2020.
