This Game Beat Fortnite As Most Downloaded F2P Game On PlayStation

Gamers love their free games. What’s not to love? Many of these games are online multiplayer titles, which means that they’re getting a lot of value for essentially nothing. PlayStation has revealed the most downloaded free-to-play games on the PS Store in 2019, and number one surprisingly isn’t Fortnite anymore.

According to PlayStation Blog, Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends grabs the top spot for the most downloaded free-to-play game last year, which is an impressive feat for a new IP that only launched in February 2019.

Meanwhile, Fortnite came in second place, with other games like Dauntless, Realm Royale and Brawlhalla taking third, fourth and fifth place, respectively. The rest of the list is populated by titles such as Warface Live, Don’t Even Think, Warframe, H1Z1: Battle Royale, and 3 on 3 Freestyle.

It remains to be seen of Apex Legends will be able to hold onto the crown in 2020. However, with no competition in sight (for now), it seems like the battle royale game will continue to dominate on the PlayStation Store for the foreseeable future.
