Final Fantasy VII Remake Delayed By One Month

Turns out Marvel’s Avengers isn’t the only game getting a delayed from Square Enix, though it’s not as severe a pushback.

The remake of Final Fantasy VII where you control Avalanche member Cloud as he kicks corporate ass as an eco-terrorist alongside his black friend Barrett and well-endowed childhood friend Tifa, will be pushed back from its 3rd March release date. Instead, it’ll be out 10th April.

Here are some words from producer Yoshinori Kitase concerning this:

“We are making this tough decision in order to give ourselves a few extra weeks to apply final polish to the game and to deliver you with the best possible experience.

I, on behalf of the whole team, want to apologize to everyone, as I know this means waiting for the game just a little bit longer. Thank you for your patience and continued support.”

At the very least, it’s only a month. Which now makes April a suicide month for other games instead of March. I mean, which game(s) would be silly enough to cross paths against a remake of a beloved JRPG that mainstreamed the genre?

In other news, we might be getting aPS4 demo of the game before April hits. Or not; we’ll see soon enough.
