4K Gaming On Chrome Is Finally Coming To Google Stadia
By Burhanudin Zamri|January 17, 2020|0 Comment
The pesky thing about promises is that you have to keep them. However, if you’re as gigantic as Google then you can probably get away with not keeping some promises. Some very important promises.
The Google Stadia was released in November 2019 and aside from the input lag being just as bad as everyone predicted, features such as 4K and HDR still haven’t arrived. Things are looking up though, according to a recent blog post from the Stadia team.
Over the next three months, the team plans to finally keep their promise of allowing Stadia users to experience 4K gaming via Google Chrome. Adding on top of that, they’ll also allow you to wirelessly use your Stadia controller while playing on that same browser.
Other features are planned to roll out in the first quarter of 2020 are:
- Add further Assistant functionality when playing on the Web.
- Support additional Android Phones.
More games will be coming to Stadia Pro in February 2020 but we’ll only find out what those games at the end of this month. So far the Stadia Pro library hasn’t been impressing anyone since it doesn’t really have that many new releases.
That’s pretty much all that was talked about in the blog post. The team also recounted all their achievements in the past two months including buying Typhoon Studios, the developer of the upcoming game Journey to the Savage Planet. The game comes out on 28 January 2020.
Will 2020 be the year Google Stadia finally proves itself? I highly doubt it. Still, I’d love to be proven wrong and have Google laugh at my face as they pave the way to the future of gaming. You can read the full blog post here.
