Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet 2nd Season Greenlit Ahead Of Release
By Burhanudin Zamri|January 21, 2020|0 Comment
When it comes to comedy shows that showcase nerd culture or gaming as an interest, most people quote The Big Bang Theory and The IT Crowd. However, a new challenger is making its way to Apple TV and the producers are confident it’ll be a hit.
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMaPCYRPhY0&w=560&h=315]Rob McElhenney, one of the creators of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, is about to debut his new show Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet. It’s a show that focuses on the going-ons in a game development studio that’s making an MMO called (you guessed it) Mythic Quest.
According to Variety, the show has already been renewed for a second season. It will be streamed exclusively via Apple TV and the first season is scheduled to premiere on 7 February 2020.
Similar to most comedy shows, Mythic Quest will have half-hour episodes. The first season will have a total of nine episodes.
Just to drive in the game-y origins of the show, McElhenney was inspired to make the show after his visit to Ubisoft’s headquarters. Adding on to that, one of the production companies co-producing the show is Ubisoft Motion Pictures.
The trailer does show a bit of promise in terms of its premise but its core element, comedy, doesn’t seem to really shine. Video game humour isn’t exactly something that appeals to everyone and gamers themselves are a tough crowd especially if you don’t know how to balance between comedy and cringe.
