Back when the PS3 first came out, its biggest weakness was its embarrassingly small launch library. Sony learnt their lesson and did better with the PS4. With games like Godfall scheduled to release alongside the PS5, they have a chance of repeating that success.

Seeing as how the PS5 is still almost an entire year away from release, it’s not surprising that we haven’t seen much of what the console can do. The reveal trailer for Godfall only showed cinematics but fortunately, Redditor YeaQaurterDongIng got his hands on an unreleased trailer.

The above six-second snippet of gameplay comes from that trailer. It doesn’t show us much but at least now we know what the combat looks like. Instead of the fast-paced hack and slash nature of games like Devil May Cry, it seems to be going for a heavier approach resembling The Surge and Bloodborne.

Godfall is being marketed as a looter-slasher which basically means that it’s Destiny with swords and axes. It will support drop-in drop-out co-op for up to three players. While it’s the first confirmed PS5 game, it’s not a console exclusive. There will be a PC version.
