When Michael Bay’s first Transformers movie (the one with Shia LaBeouf) was first announced, it got everyone extremely excited. Five movies and a spin-off reboot later, people don’t even care that much about the franchise anymore.
Despite the lack of positive reception for the majority of the franchise, Paramount Pictures is still keen on making more Transformers movies. Sources tell Variety that at least two scripts for new movies are being worked on simultaneously.
One of the scripts is allegedly being written by James Vanderbilt who wrote the first two Amazing Spider-Man movies. The other script is apparently being written by Joby Harold, known for writing King Arthur: Legend of the Sword and is currently working on Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead.
Details are still scarce but the sources say that the scripts will present new opportunities in creating multiple storylines. No directors have been hired to helm these projects and it’s very likely that we’ll be seeing a new lineup of actors starring in these movies.
This could either be another reboot of the franchise or perhaps even a continuation of Bumblebee which is often considered a redemption film. However, the possibility of an all new cast hints that this will be something divorced from Bumblebee and other films.
