Baby Yoda has taken the world by storm thanks to The Mandalorian. However, even after completing its first season, we have yet to discover what its real name is, and some fans are starting to wonder if there even is one. Recently, episode eight director Taika Waititi reassured everyone that yes, Baby Yoda has a real name.

During the Golden Globes, Waititi spoke with The New York Times’ Kyle Buchanan, the latter of whom posted the director’s response on Twitter:

I also asked Taika about Baby Yoda, since he directed the MANDALORIAN finale. “He’s not named Baby Yoda!” Taika insisted. There is a name yet to be revealed, and Taika knows it but won’t hint. “I’ll wait for Favreau to give that away.”

It looks like we’ll have to wait a while longer yet before we learn about Baby Yoda’s real name, perhaps in the upcoming season two of The Mandalorian, which is slated to arrive sometime in fall 2020.
