Rian Johnson is known for many things. One of them is for directing one of the most divisive Star Wars movie to ever come out. On a more positive note, he’s also known for making Knives Out, one of 2019’s best movies.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter at Lionsgate’s pre-Golden Globes party, Johnson revealed that he’s already working on a sequel to Knives Out. He wants to focus it on the next case of detect Benoit Blance, the character played by Daniel Craig.
Johnson’s producing partner Ram Bergman also said that Craig himself is excited to come back and play Benoit. Seeing as how it will focus on a new case, it’s unlikely that characters will be coming back but we’ll have to wait and see.
“Daniel had so much fun doing it, and he wants to do more.”
– Ram Bergman
Officially speaking, a Knives Out sequel hasn’t been greenlit by Lionsgate. Seeing as how the movie made more than US$247 million worlwide, there’s really no reason for the studio to say “no” to a sequel.
As of writing this, Knives Out is ending its theatrical run in Malaysia. For those of you who never got to watch it, we definitely recommend catching when it comes to your preferred streaming platform. Read our review of them movie here.
