Scott Derrickson Leaves Doctor Strange 2 Due To Creative Differences
By Burhan ZamriVerified|January 10, 2020|0 Comment
When Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness was first announced, it got a lot of us excited. Particularly because it was going to be the MCU’s first horror movie or something along those lines. Unfortunately, that might not turn out to be true after all.
Director of the first Doctor Strange movie Scott Derrickson won’t be filling the same seat for the aforementioned sequel. He tweeted out that he has decided to part ways with Marvel due to creative differences.
Marvel and I have mutually agreed to part ways on Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness due to creative differences. I am thankful for our collaboration and will remain on as EP.

Derrickson is known for directing horror movies such as The Exorcism of Emily Rose and the Sinister films. Without him helming the project, it’s highly likely that it won’t live up to the promise of being a superhero movie with strong horror elements.
So now we’ll be waiting to see who Marvel chooses to direct the movie in Derrickson’s absence. As somebody who’s rarely seen any horror movies, I don’t have any names to suggest but even if I did, it seems that the studio has probably lost interest in the horror angle anyway.
