The original Wasteland was an open-world post-apocalyptic RPG developed by Interplay that was released in 1988, many years before many gamers of today were even born. Now InXile Entertainment, led by Interplay co-founder Brian Fargo, is bringing back the experience by remastering it for a new generation.
The original Wasteland later inspired the first-ever Fallout game, so it’s the grand-daddy of post-apocalyptic RPGs. Wasteland Remastered will arrive with completely overhauled graphics, sound, and expanded musical score.
In the game, players assume the role of Desert Ranger, a band of stalwart lawmen who are the only hope left in what was once the American southwest, and good people’s last defence against hunger, sickness, ravaging raiders, and mutants.
Wasteland Remastered is slated to release for the Xbox One and PC on 25 February 2020.
