Disney Confirms The Mandalorian, The Falcon And The Winter Soldier & WandaVision Release Windows

During their investor earnings call on 4 February 2020, Disney revealed the expected release windows for Star Wars’ The Mandalorian Season 2, The Falcon And The Winter Soldier and WandaVision on Disney Plus later this year.

Here are the release windows for each respective show:

  • The Falcon And The Winter Soldier – August 2020
  • The Mandalorian Season 2 – October 2020
  • WandaVision – December 2020

The announcement was made by Walt Disney boss Robert Iger, who also revealed that Disney Plus subscribers have reached a whopping 28.6 million subscribers to date. That’s an impressive number, considering that it just launched over three months ago.

According to IGN, Iger said:

“We had a strong first quarter, highlighted by the launch of Disney+, which has exceeded even our greatest expectations.

Thanks to our incredible collection of brands, outstanding content from our creative engines and state-of-the-art technology, we believe our direct-to-consumer services, including Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu, position us well for continued growth in today’s dynamic media environment.”

Let’s hope by then that Disney Plus has expanded to Southeast Asia and other countries as well. However, this still brings up a clear vacant few months for the streaming service between February 2020 to August 2020 in terms of major releases. How will Disney fill the void and will those subscribers still be there in several months? We’ll have to wait and see.
