Don’t Worry, Ninja Gaiden Fans, Team Ninja Did Not Forget About You

Update: We made an error mentioning that TheGodfatherDictator was Chinese. He is a Quebec Canadian. We regret the error and have amended the mistake.

Nioh 2 is only a month away with a 13th March release date and will be about 50 to 60 hours long. That’s pretty in-depth for an action RPG title, so fans will get invested in that.

But I bet a number of you are wondering: is Team Ninja ever, EVER going to go back to the Ninja Gaiden well? The answer, it seems, is a definite “maybe”.

Team Ninja are already thinking about making its next game, and they are aware that there’s an appetite for more hardcore Ninja Gaiden action gaming. You can thank From Software’s Sekiro for that, according to Nioh 2 game director Fumihiko Yasuda.

“The core members of the team that worked on Ninja Gaiden want to make a new game. We are aware that some fans wanted Ninja Gaiden more than Nioh 2. Now we see a lot of ninja games like [Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice] as well, and we see a lot of good inspirations in those games, so we hope to deliver some good news one day.”

In the meantime, gaze in awe at this world first Ninja Gaiden 2 Master Ninja no damage run from Canadian Quebec player TheGodfatherDictator. If you thought Bayonetta 1 & 2 Infinite Climax was badass, wait until you get a load of this.

The Ninja Gaiden reboot for the original Xbox, Ninja Gaiden 2, and their respective expansions/updates (Black, Sigma, etc.) are action gaming godsends that rank highly alongside Devil May Cry 3: SE and the Bayonetta series. The less said about Ninja Gaiden 3 and Yaiba, the better.
