Former Justice League Member Joins Marvel’s Falcon & Winter Soldier

Marvel’s The Falcon And The Winter Soldier has reportedly added another cast member to its ranks, and it’s none other than a former member of the Justice League.

According to Deadline, actor Carl Lumbly has joined the cast of the upcoming series, albeit in an as-of-yet undisclosed role. Lumbly is best known for voicing J’on J’onzz AKA the Martian Manhunter in Bruce Timm’s iconic Justice League animated series, as well as recently portraying the father of Martian Manhunter in CW’s Supergirl series.

You might also know him as protagonist Dr. Miles Hawkins from M.A.N.T.I.S., a series about a wheelchair-bound scientist who creates an exo-suit to fight crime, which aired from 1994 to 1995. It’s possible that Lumbly could be playing Isaiah Bradley in Marvel’s The Falcon And The Winter Soldier.

Isaiah Bradley was subjected to an attempt to recreate the Super Soldier Serum which turned Steve Rogers into Captain America, transforming him into the first ‘black’ superhero in the Marvel Universe. He was originally introduced in the 2003 Marvel Comics limited series Truth: Red, White & Black.

Marvel’s The Falcon and The Winter Soldier stars various actors reprising their roles, including Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter and Daniel Brühl as Zemo.

Newcomers include Wyatt Russell, who will be portraying John Walker AKA USAgent, another product of Super-Soldier experiments who briefly replaced Captain America, albeit in an antagonistic and more violent way.
