Transformers fans, unite. You may get a series that will do justice to the 80s robots in disguise legacy, unlike the Michael Bay sequels.
Netflix will be showcasing a trilogy titled Transformers: War For Cybertron, with the first part titled Siege. It’s basically about the Autobot’s attempt at stopping Megatron from claiming the Allspark. As expected, it will go horribly wrong for the good guys.
Each part will feature six 22-minute episodes, with each part portraying each crucial part in Cybertron’s history. It will be produced by Rooster Teeth, the same guys who did RWBY. Polygon Pictures will be doing animation work. The showrunner for this series is FJ DeSanto, who has a bunch of Transformers shows and mini-episodes under his belt. Voice cast includes Jake Foushee as Optimus Prime, Jason Marnocha as Megatron, and Linsay Rousseau as Elita-1.
The show currently has no release date yet. Official trailer and description below:
In the midst of ongoing war on Cybertron, forces of good and evil clash as they search for the source of their power: the Allspark. This may not be the life they imagined, but it’s a life worth fighting for.
Doesn’t explain why Optimus is in his Earth car form though. Still, it looks promising.
