Second Dark Pictures Anthology Game Is Coming This Summer

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man Of Medan came out in August 2019, which we found to be a flawed interactive adventure horror title (check out our review here). Nevertheless, a second entry is coming soon, and developer Supermassive Games have dished out a few new details.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope was initially revealed in a secret teaser at the end of The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man Of Medan. It will officially launch for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, sometime in summer 2020.

Supermassive Games CEO Pete Samuels said (via IGN):

“Trapped and isolated in the abandoned town of Little Hope, four college students and their professor must escape the nightmarish visions that relentlessly pursue them through an impenetrable fog.

As they journey through the town looking for a means of escape, they must understand the meaning of these events, the root of evil, and how it is directly connected to them.”

That sounds a lot like the premise and setting of Konami’s Silent Hill franchise. Imagine an interactive adventure Silent Hill title, perhaps that’s what The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope is trying to be.

The upcoming game will feature the same two multiplayer modes that The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan did, which includes Shared Story and Movie Night. In Shared Story, players can share their story with friends online, while a group of five players can pass the controller to each other in a local offline mode in Movie Night.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope will star Black Mirror: Bandersnatch and The Chronicles Of Narnia: Voyage Of The Dawn Treader actor Will Poulter. In the meantime, check out the trailer below.
