Domino’s Malaysia Rewards National Esports Players With Free Pizza

Earlier today, Domino’s Pizza Malaysia held a special prize-giving ceremony to honour the national esports athletes who participated at the 2019 SEA Games, which took place from November to December 2019. Malaysia grabbed our first-ever esports Gold medal when Dr. Yew Weng Kean won first place in Hearthstone.
Domino’s will grant an entire decade’s worth of pizzas to Dr. Yew Weng Kean, as well as two years supply of pizza to the Malaysian Mobile Legends: Bang Bang team (who scored the Bronze medal), consisting of Ahmad Ali Huzaifi Abdullah, Abdul Wandi Abdul Kadir, Jamil Nurolla, Izme Haqeem Hamsjid, and Muhammad Hazeem Onn.
The other esports athletes who were also part of the national esports contingent for the 2019 SEA Games also attended Domino’s prize-giving ceremony, including the representatives for Dota 2, StarCraft 2, Tekken 7, and Arena Of Valor.
Domino’s Pizza Malaysia and Singapore Deputy President of Operations Shamsul Amree said:
“We are extremely proud to honour our national esports champions as they have achieved an outstanding performance and today we are more than happy to reward them for their excellent show of sportsmanship.
We appreciate and understand the hard work, determination and tenacity that esports players put into the competition.
This is very much in line with Domino’s spirit and purpose of delivering quality products and services as well as an enhanced experience to all.
We hope that our hot, tasty and delicious pizzas will keep the esports superstars going as they train for the upcoming tournaments.
We would like to wish those competing all the best, we are always rooting for you.”

After the prize-giving ceremony, a panel discussion was held to explore the esports landscape and its future in Malaysia (and the world at large). Domino’s Pizza Malaysia has been involved in esports since November 2018, with the aim of supporting and engaging with the esports community and games industry.
