Reminder: The PlayStation 2 Is Still The Best-Selling Console Of All Time

The seasons & consoles have changed, but some things are constant. In this case, the PlayStation 2’s sales numbers.

According to Statista’s recent infographic, the PlayStation’s second console which came out on 4th March 2000 is still regarded as the best-selling console of all time. The company sold 155 million PS2 units since its launch.

While many can debate about the sources (with one of them being VGChartz), it still doesn’t change the fact that the PS2 was largely influential during its time in the 2000s. Call it perfect timing, call it the right place at the right time moment; it came out to huge fanfare and dominated Nintendo and Sega. But you cannot deny its stellar library and that sleek, sleek-looking black box.

Stick around tomorrow as we’ll talk about said library. Or at least parts of it.
