This Is How You Complete Ori and the Will of the Wisps In Under 1 Hour

While Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a heckuva epic Metroidvania title spanning about 12 hours or so, it’s also a new proving ground for speedrunners. Just like with the prequel, hardcore players are finding out ways to beat Ori 2 using glitches and shortcuts in the shortest time possible.

After days of being out in the wild, we have our first-ever world record: speedrunner Isaia on YouTube who just completed the game in just an hour and 36 seconds to spare.

The trick? Well, this particular run uses the “sword leap glitch” where Ori can jump to greater heights if you have the sentry and sword power equipped while also pressing the commands for these two as quickly as possible. It’s all explained here by Isaia himself via Reddit:

Equip sentry (the turret) and sword. Hold up. Press sentry then sword quickly. The shorter the gap the more height you get. Super easy if you stand on the ground but aerial once are more finicky so I don’t use them much yet.

Easier said than done, as he also exploited other glitches as well to get by most segments like the Howler. Check out the magic below.
