Netflix’s She-Ra Season 5 Will Be Its Last

Netflix debuted the She-Ra And The Princesses of Power animated series only two years ago in 2018, and it’s already about to receive its fifth and final season. However, according to showrunner Noelle Stevenson, it won’t be a premature ending, as the development team have planned each and every episode from the beginning.

In an interview with EW, Stevenson revealed that She-Ra And The Princesses of Power was given only 52 episodes from the start, which explains how the show managed to impressively launch a whopping five seasons within only two years.

Stevenson also explained why She-Ra And The Princesses of Power is a great show to binge on during this time of global quarantine and lockdown due to the Covid-19 Coronavirus pandemic. She said:

“I think it’s a great show to watch to both deal with your own feelings about the world, and appreciate them through a world that is very optimistic and does believe in redemption, forgiveness, and love.

We try to be as sincere about that stuff as possible without letting it ever be cheesy or provide easy solutions.

For us, it is trying to look at our role in the world and how to be good, be strong, be brave like the characters are?

I think it’s a great watch for anyone who needs to watch some magical princesses fight each for a while, and also for people who are struggling with confusion, fear, and those messy feelings.

Hopefully, you find an outlet for those feelings here and some comfort from them.”

As a fan of the show myself, I agree with Stevenson. She-Ra And The Princesses of Power is currently one of the best animated or non-animated show on Netflix, so it’s a shame to see it ending so soon. It was diverse without being blatantly in-your-face about it and featured brilliant writing to boot.

Still, we should be glad that it’s heading towards its planned and natural conclusion, instead of being cancelled. Here’s hoping that it ends better than the atrocious final season of Netflix’s Voltron: Legendary Defenders, which left a bitter taste in the mouth of many fans.

She-Ra And The Princesses of Power Season 5 is slated to premiere on 15 May 2020. In the meantime, check out the brand new posters below.
