Fortnite Is Getting A Deadpool Invasion
By Alleef AshaariVerified|March 17, 2020|0 Comment
Epic Games recently launched Fortnite Season 2 Chapter 2 with a brand new Top Secret theme of sleek spies and espionage. Last month’s trailer already Marvel character Deadpool’s involvement in some way, and it looks like leaks have revealed a Deadpool-themed cosmetic on its way.
Data miner Lucas7Yoshi have discovered new skins, back bling, gliders, emotes, and other cosmetics hidden in the recent Fortnite V12.20 patch. These continue the new Top Secret theme, with a reactive skin called Tailor, Envoy, and Crimson Elite. Popular slurp varieties of skins also make a comeback too, with new looks for Jonesy, Bandolette, and Leviathan.
However, the most interesting new additions are the bizarre Deadpool-themed content, including a wrap simply called ‘Merc’ and a special loading screen, which you can check out below.
We still don’t know why Deadpool is part of Fortnite‘s Top Secret theme in Season 2 Chapter 2, though it must be an extension of the original deal between Epic Games and Marvel that began with Avengers Infinity War and Avengers Endgame (not to mention the Star Wars The Rise Of Skywalker content).
At the time of writing, it remains to be seen when these cosmetics will be available in Fortnite, or how to obtain them when they do arrive. Previously-leaked cosmetics have tended to take a while to eventually appear in the item shop.
