Ghost Recon Breakpoint Now Has Trial Version And Friend Pass

I previously wrote how Ubisoft seemed keen to promote Sam Fisher’s appearance in Ghost Recon Breakpoint with their recently-concluded free weekend for the game. Now, they’re providing further incentives to play the game itself with the new trial version and Friend Pass.

According to the post, the trial will let you play Ghost Recon Breakpoint for six hours, with the entirety of the game being accessible. You keep your progress when you buy the game or play through the Friend Pass – more on that later – but if you’d played during the free weekend, the time you spent during that period will be counted for the purposes of the trial.

The Friend Pass, on the other hand, requires one person to own the game. This player can invite other players, so long as they have the trial version of the game installed, to their co-op session. There’s no limit on how many players you can invite overall, but you can only have up to three in a session, and they’ll need to be playing on the same platform as the host.

The trial version is available on the Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, Ubisoft Store, and Epic Games Store and will be around forever. Meanwhile, the Friend Pass is available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC until 16 June 2020 only.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint didn’t quite impress at launch, so maybe this is Ubisoft’s way of trying to convince players that the game’s updates and new content, like the Ghost experience, have improved things. At the very least, it doesn’t cost much to find out if that’s the case.
