My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising Gets Malaysia Release

Updated 5/3/2020:

My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising will begin screening exclusively at GSC Cinemas nationwide starting from 26 March 2020.

Film distributor Odex has revealed Facebook that the My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising movie is heading to Malaysia sometime this year.

Funimation, the US distributor for the film, describes the story:

“Class 1-A visits Nabu Island where they finally get to do some real hero work. The place is so peaceful that it’s more like a vacation … until they’re attacked by a villain with an unfathomable Quirk! His power is eerily familiar, and it looks like Shigaraki had a hand in the plan.

But with All Might retired and citizens’ lives on the line, there’s no time for questions. Deku and his friends are the next generation of heroes, and they’re the island’s only hope.”

Heroes Rising is the second movie to be based on the popular My Hero Academia series. The first movie, Two Heroes, was also screened in Malaysia, via GSC Cinemas.

During Two Heroes‘ run here, a movie-goer was found to have recorded the movie in cinema, resulting in Odex issuing a statement. Hopefully, we won’t get a repeat of that with Heroes Rising.
