Red XIII Won’t Be Playable In Final Fantasy 7 Remake
It’s only a month away until Final Fantasy 7 Remake hits store shelves for the PS4. Bet you can’t wait to revisit the series and use heroes like Cloud and Tifa, eh? If you’re familiar with the series, however, you won’t be using one particular red four-legged talking mutant.
According to Final Fantasy 7 Remake co-director Naoki Hamaguchi (via VG247), Red XIII’s role in the remake will be relegated to guest character status. He won’t be a playable and customizable party member.
“Normally throughout the game you’ll be playing as a three-man party, but you will have him as a guest character that fights alongside you during the last part of the story. We felt that it was the best way of showing him off as a character and who he is.”
Keep in mind that in the original game, Red XIII joins your party and becomes playable at the tail end of the Midgar chapter and after they bust out of the dank city. This also confirms that Final Fantasy 7 Remake will end after our team of eco-terrorist bust out of the city.
