Solar Opposites Is A New Bonkers Animated Show From Rick And Morty Co-Creator
By Alleef Ashaari|March 26, 2020|0 Comment
The latest season of Rick And Morty premiered in November 2019, but with only five episodes, you’re probably hankering for more batshit crazy content. Chin up, folks, because Rick And Morty co-creator Justin Roiland and former head writer Mike McMahan are working together on a new animated called Solar Opposites.
Solar Opposites is about a family of aliens forced to take refuge in middle America, so basically the joke of the premise is that they’re ‘aliens’ (read: immigrants) who are literally and actually aliens.
The show’s first trailer just dropped, and it looks like the new series will be showcasing the same manic and madcap R-rated shenanigans as Rick And Morty. The official synopsis reads:
Solar Opposites centers around a team of four aliens who escape their exploding home world only to crash land into a move-in ready home in suburban America.
They are evenly split on whether Earth is awful or awesome.
Korvo (Justin Roiland) and Yumyulack (Sean Giambroni) only see the pollution, crass consumerism, and human frailty while Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and Jesse (Mary Mack) love humans and all their TV, junk food, and fun stuff.
Their mission: protect the Pupa, a living super computer that will one day evolve into its true form, consume them and terraform the Earth.
Roiland himself (who also Rick Sanchez in Rick And Morty) will be voicing Korvo, but viewers will also be able to look forward to a lot more A-list talent in guest cameos. These include:
All eight episodes of the first season of Solar Opposites will premiere exclusively on Hulu on 8 May 2020. In a statement to Ars Technica, Roiland and McMahan said:
“Solar Opposites is coming!
We can only show you the teaser right now, but the whole season will be out in a matter of weeks!
Stay inside and stay healthy so you can watch and love this show and call us geniuses and all that shit.â€
