ESRB Rating Leaks Saints Row: The Third Remastered

We know that a new Saints Row game is on the way, but it looks like we’ll also be getting a remaster of Saints Row: The Third.

There’s no official announcement yet, but a listing for Saints Row: The Third: Remastered is currently on ESRB. It seems that the remaster will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, though a release date isn’t available.

Saints Row: The Third originally came out in 2011. The game was an open-world crime-themed third-person shooter, but distinguished itself from Grand Theft Auto by being far more outlandish and irreverent; among its weapons was a dildo bat called The Penetrator. Later instalments would introduce superpowers and even take players to Hell.

While playing Saints Row 4 first affected my enjoyment of Saints Row: The Third, it was still a pretty fun and silly open-world game. I don’t think it needs a remaster, but maybe the developers will change my mind when more concrete news emerges.
