Disney Announces New Release Dates For Black Widow, Mulan & More

Disney has finally unveiled new official release dates for many of its upcoming major movies, including Mulan and Black Widow. Both were supposed to be released in March and April 2020, respectively, but were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

These new release dates (via Deadline) include several of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films following Black Widow, as well as other future movies like Indiana Jones 5 and Jungle Cruise.

Here are the new release dates for upcoming Disney movies (newly-announced release dates are the ones in Bold):

  • Mulan: 24 July 2020
  • The French Dispatch: 16 October 2020
  • Black Widow: 6 November 2020
  • Free Guy: 11 December 2020
  • West Side Story: 18 December 2020
  • The Last Duel: 25 December 2020
  • The Eternals: 12 February 2021
  • Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings: 7 May 2021
  • Jungle Cruise: 30 July 2021
  • Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness: 5 November 2021
  • Thor Love And Thunder: 28 February 2022
  • Black Panther 2: 8 May 2022
  • Captain Marvel 2: 8 July 2022
  • Indiana Jones 5: 29 July 2022

Weirdly enough, Disney has yet to reveal new release dates for several movies formerly owned by 20th Century Fox, including The New Mutants, The Personal History of David Copperfield, Antlers, and Woman In The Window. These movies remain delayed indefinitely as of now.

Meanwhile, Disney’s Artemis Fowl will be going straight to streaming service Disney Plus instead of releasing in cinemas. However, it has yet to receive a new release date either. It’s been a wild and unpredictable year for movies in general, and this will likely continue until the COVID-19 pandemic has been safely contained, which hopefully happens sooner rather than later.
