Go Retro With Streets of Rage 4’s Bonus Unlockable Characters & Music

Hell yeah, THIS is what I’m talking about.

Dotemu just announced that in the upcoming fourth game, you can unlock and play as characters in past Streets of Rage games in their 16-bit pixelated glory. These include SOR1’s Axel, Blaze, and Adam, SOR2’s Axel, Blaze, Skate, and Max, and SOR 3’s Dr. Zan, Skate, Axel, and Blaze. Yes, it’s going to look like a mess alongside the new art style, but it’ll probably be fun to play especially since the game offers local 4-player mode.

And if you’re somehow not a fan of the music in the upcoming game, you can opt to play old tracks from Streets of Rage 1 and 2 while you’re beating up fools, courtesy of Yuzo Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima.

Check out the retro announcement below:

If you’re hyped for Streets of Rage 4, may we also suggest you check out our SoundScape video featuring part 4’s sample music?
