We Are Not Getting A New WWE 2K Game Next Year, WWE Confirms

There have rumours swirling around that there won’t be a WWE 2K21 after last year’s disaster of a game that was WWE 2K20. That has now been confirmed by WWE themselves in a Q1 2020 conference call earlier today.

Wrestling Sheet EIC Ryan Satin confirmed the news via his Twitter account, as he attended the WWE conference call, where WWE CEO Vince McMahon and WWE interim CFO Frank Riddick were providing various updates on the organization.

This historic occasion will mark the first time that a game in the WWE 2K franchise (previously known as WWF/WWE SmackDown! when it was under THQ) will not be receiving an annual entry since it originally began with 2000’s WWF SmackDown!.

2019’s WWE 2K20 was universally-derided by gamers and reviewers alike, as the game is broken and littered with glitches and bugs to the point of near-unplayability. This was possibly due to the last-minute split between publisher 2K and long-time WWE 2K developer Yuke’s.
