Razer’s Face Mask Production Begins, Capable Of 5 Million Per Month

Last month, Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan announced that they were going to start producing face masks in order to help combat the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. Today, the company has revealed that Singapore’s first fully-automated mask manufacturing line is now operational and has begun production.

Razer has already donated up to 1 million face masks globally to countries like Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and the US. Meanwhile, the Razer subsidiary, Razer Fintech, also recently launched a US$50 million COVID-19 relief fund for partners.

The Razer face mask manufacturing line is fully-automated and expected to have a capacity of approximately a whopping five million masks per month, which the company claims can still be scaled up if required.

In addition, they are being manufactured in an ISO 13485 certified controlled room environment (which means that they’re cleaner and more sanitized) and will be certified according to both local and international standards.

However, it’s unclear how many and when these Razer face masks will be distributed in Singapore and the rest of Southeast Asia, not to mention the world. The company promises that more news on the availability of the face masks will be announced via their official social media accounts like Facebook or Twitter.
