[Rumour] Guerilla Is Planning A Horizon Zero Dawn Trilogy, Horizon Zero Dawn 2 For PS5

We initially reported that new job listings by Guerilla may be pointing to active development for Horizon Zero Dawn 2. Now, according to multiple sources from VGC, the developer is planning an entire trilogy for the franchise, and that the sequel to 2017’s Horizon Zero Dawn will be a PS5 exclusive.

Horizon Zero Dawn 2 is said to be “gigantic” in scope, featuring a bigger open-world map and more freedom for exploration. A co-op feature is also hinted at, although it’s not clear if this will be available via the main story campaign or a separate online mode.

Another source claimed that Guerilla was planning to release a standalone co-op game preview at one point, with progress carrying over to the eventual full version of Horizon Zero Dawn 2. Previously-leaked concept art in 2014 has shown that Guerilla has always had multiplayer in mind, depicting multiple players battling a mechanical enemy.

All of this should be taken with a grain of salt for now, as none of it has been officially confirmed as of yet. Still, it makes sense for Horizon Zero Dawn 2 to release exclusively for the PS5, though we’ll have to wait and see.
